Do parents ever...?
Try taking a walk in their child's shoes? I mean, when they punish them. I understand that when we do something wrong, we must be punished. But, do they ever take a walk in the teen's shoes and see how odd and unjustified the punishment is?

um, yeah. kids seems to forget that their parents were kids once upon a time too and changes are they did the same things you are doing now.

I have tremendous empathy for what teens go thru but as a parent I need to protect and guide them from these things. But I try not to make it punishment I try to make it a learning experience. Like what ever they did, I try something that might help them learn why it wasn't a good idea or the dangers involved in it. I was there and I didn't always make the right decisions, no one does but if we miss the opportunity to teach and help them learn we are failing at our jobs.

Other Replys:Lets Just remember here that parents are just normal human beings. They were teenagers and would of felt the odd and unjustified punishments to, but this would of aided in them growing up and being the best they can be and the best parent, this means punishing there children too. It works if you work it.
